On June 16, 2019, a consulting training was held for the primary level Georgian language teachers who were registered for the certification exams by the ESFTUG Mtskheta county organization. The training was led by Tamar Chelidze, the trainer of the ESFTUG NGO "Professional Development Center for Employees in Georgian Educational Institutions."
The leader of the ESFTUG Mtskheta county organization thanked Ms. Mariam Mkalavishvili, the head of the Professional Development Center for Employees in Georgian Educational Institutions and Ms. Nana Bokhua –the principal of the host school.
On March 30 and 31, 2019, training "General Skills Development" was conducted for the employees of kindergarten №191of Mtatsminda-Krtsanisi county Organization of Educators and Scientists Free Trade Union of Georgia.
A two day training was initiated by Keso Osishvili, the chairperson of Mtatsminda-krtsanisi county organization.
Employees of several kindergartens (№155, №200, №209, №152, №191, Tsavkisi, Kojori, Tabakhmela) of Mtatsminda-krtsanisi county took part in the training held in kindergarten №191.
A group of 40 participants was led by Mariam Mkalavishvili, the executive director of the ESFTUG NGO “Professional Development Center for Employees in Georgian Educational Institutions.”
The theme of the training module “General Skills Development” includes development of verbal as well as mathematical skills. The trainings about the above-mentioned topic help employees to achieve success in the testing conducted by the kindergarten management agency and, therefore, in career advancement.
ESFTUG’ continues to care for the qualification of people employed in the education system.

The mission of Educators and Scientists Free Trade Union of Georgia (ESFTUG) is carried out in two important directions:

- Take care of the professional development of the employees in educational and scientific institutions.
In each of these directions the organization is in the process of permanent development, which is based on active cooperation with members, community organizations, government and local self-government bodies.

- Promoting the recognition of social status of education and science workers;
- Protection and representation of members' labor, socio-economic, legal and professional rights and interests;
- Caring for the improvement of workers' labor and social conditions;

- Striving to ensure quality education for each child.
In order to achieve its goal, the ESFTUG conducts social dialogue with its social partner the Ministry of Education and Science to protect the interests of members and ensure quality education;
Is a collective defense and negotiating party for all instances, including the courts; Facilitates professional development of teachers and scholars.
ESFTUG LEGISLATIVE BASIS
The Educators and Scientists Free Trade Union of Georgia (ESFTUG) conducts its activities on the Constitution of Georgia, the Civil Code of Georgia, the Organic Law of Georgia - Labor Code, Law of Georgia on Trade Unions, the International Labor Organization Conventions, International Contracts and Agreements, Effective legislation and in accordance with the present Statute.
ESFTUG is an independent, voluntary, union that protects labor, social and economic rights and freedoms of persons employed in different types of educational and scientific institutions existing in Georgia. It protects its members' interests and promotes the democratization of education.
ESFTUG is independent of its activities, from state authorities and local self-government bodies, employers, political parties, public associations or religious movements.
It is not accountable to the above-mentioned institutions and is not a subject to their control except for the cases prescribed by law.
Due to the interests of members, the ESFTUG is engaged in dealing with equality, social partnership, co-operation and mutual rights and obligations.
ESFTUG independently identifies its organizational-legal structure, chooses the management bodies and develops an action program in accordance with the Constitution of Georgia and the applicable legislation in order to protect social and economic, labor and legal interests of members.
ESFTUG does not create or belong to any political party and religious community.
ESFTUG is the non-entrepreneurial (non-commercial) legal entity of private law. It has a seal, title sheet, emblem and accounts in banking institutions, possesses property, has property and personal non-property rights, is entitled to the plaintiff and the defendant in the court and arbitration.
ESFTUG operates on the entire territory of Georgia to perform its charter goals and objectives.
ESFTUG is founded for an indefinite period.

2007 წლიდან, სპმთპ საერთაშორისო და ევროპული პარტნიორების დახმარებით, საუკეთესო პრაქტიკისა და გამოცდილების დანერგვის მიზნით, ახორციელებს საერთაშორისო პროექტებს:
- 2007-2011 წლები - საერთაშორისო გაცვლითი პროექტი სამოქალაქო განათლების პედაგოგებისთვის - ,,მოზაიკა 2 “(AFT) ;
- 2009-2013 წლები - საერთაშორისო- განათლების პროგრამა ,,მოქალაქეთა ხმები- დემოკრატიული მოძრაობის ბანკი” (AFT);
- 2012-2014 წლები - ,,მასწავლებლები ადამიანის უფლებების კულტურის ამაღლებისათვის” EI-AFT);
- 2014-2016 წლები - ,,სპმთპ ადამიანის უფლებების კულტურის ამაღლებისათვის” ევროკავშირი) ;
- 2017-დან მიმდინარეობს დანიის უმაღლესი საფეხურის ეროვნული პროფკავშირის (GL) თანადგომისა და პარტნიორობის პროექტი: ,,საქართველოში განათლების პოლიტიკის ადვოკატირების შესაძლებლობებისა და სკოლის დემოკრატიული მართვის უნარების განვითარება, მასწავლებელთა პროფკავშირთან თანამშრომლობით.”
ძლიერი პროფკავშირი განათლების სისტემის მდგრადი განვითარებისათვის
Ø 2015 წლის თებერვალში, ,,მასწავლებლის საქმიანობის დაწყების, პროფესიული განვითარებისა და კარიერული წინსვლის“ ახალი სქემის პროექტის შემუშავება-განხილვის მიზნით, საქართველოს მთავრობის დადგენილებით განისაზღვრა სახელმწიფო კომისიის ფუნქცია/შემადგენლობა, სადაც მასწავლებლების ინტერესებს წარმოადგენდა სპმთპ-ის პრეზიდენტი მაია კობახიძე.
სპმთპ, წევრთა მოთხოვნების, განათლების ექსპერტებისა და იურიდიული დეპარტამენტის სიღრმისეული ანალიზის საფუძველზე, ახორციელებს რეფორმის მიმდინარეობის მონიტორინგს და დასაქმებულთა ინტერესების ადვოკატირებას.
სპმთპ-ის წევრთა კვალიფიკაციის ამაღლების, კარიერული წინსვლისა და განვითარების ხელშეწყობის მიზნით,2014 წლის ნოემბერიდან ფუნქციონირებს სპმთპ-ის ა.ა.ი.პ,,საგანმანათლებლო დაწესებულებებში დასაქმებულთა პროფესიული განვითარების ცენტრი”, რომელიც დაკომპლექტებულია მაღალკვალიფიციური განათლების ექსპერტებითა და ტრენერთა ჯგუფით. სკოლამდელი და ზოგადსაგანმანთლებლო სისტემის დასაქმებულთა საჭიროებების გათვალისწინებით იქმნება სატრენინგო მოდულები.
