On January 15-16, 2018 the ESFTUG President, Maia Kobakhidze, ESFTUG Executive Vice-President Mari Alugishvili, head of the ESFTUG Organizing Department Maia Esebua and the Coordinator from the same department Anastasia Amisulashvili visited Bagdati region. The aim of the visit was development and strengthening of the branch organization and fastening the members and attracting the new members.

The visit was organized by the acting chairman of Bagdati branch organization, Tea Tavadze. The meetings were held in Baghdati with Bagdati region (first Dimi, second Dimi, Vartsikhe, Rokhi, Rokiti, Opcha №1, Bagdati №1, №2 and Bagdati sport school) public schools’ employees and kindergartens’ principals.

Maia Kobakhidze, talked about the trade union’s role and functions, about the difficulties, which the organization passed since 2010, about the achievements in the field of employees’ labor, social-economic, legal and professional rights’ protection. She also talked about the most important success of the ESFTUG – the sectoral agreement, which was signed in 2017. Maia Kobakhidze explained what the organization is doing for its members’ professional development and for improving teachers' status. Also, about the organization’s future plans and challenges.

President of ESFTUG listened to all the problems that public schools and preschool institutions and there employees have.

The visit in Bagdati was busy and at the same time quite effective. The members of ESFTUG Bagdati branch organization were informed all news from the President and personally introduced their problems to her. Some of participants immediately became the union’s members.

Maia Kobakhidze also met Bagdati region’s Educational Resource Center’s Acting Director, Ivane Zhorzholiani. They discussed the problems existing in the public schools and kindergartens and the ways of resolving these problems.
