 The sixth meeting of the Georgia-EU Civil Society Platform (EGP) was held in Brussels on February 26, 2020. Among the members of the delegation of civil society organizations of the Eastern Partnership of Georgia was the Educators and Scientists Free Trade Union of Georgia represented by Executive Vice President Mari Alugishvili.

https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/tc0/1/16/1f1ec_1f1ea.png" /> The EU-Georgia Civil Society Platform was established under the EU-Georgia Association Agreement, which aims to represent the public interest in the country's European integration course, monitor ongoing processes and prepare recommendations with the involvement of senior European Commission officials and European trade unions.

The EU-Georgia Civil Society Platform is co-chaired by Istvan Komorowski (European Commission) and Kakha Gogolashvili (Director of the Center for European Studies). According to the European regulation, the Georgian delegation is composed of 6 members, including two trade union organizations. Tamar Gabisonia, a lawyer of the Georgian Trade Union Confederation, took part in the 6th meeting of 2020.

Members of the Georgian delegation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the European side discussed the topics of the Association Agreement and the fulfillment of the country's obligations.

It was noted that education is the key to the development of the economic and social situation of the country.
