During the interview with the newspaper "Kronika", Maia Kobakhidze talked about new challenges that teachers have faced since the beginning of a new school year. She stated that certified teachers expected that their social conditions would be improved. However not everyone could get a 75 GEL salary bonus, as long as this rule applied to only full-time teachers, i.e. the ones who work at least 18 hours per week. Ms Kobakhidze also added that in order certified educators to get their salary bonus, uncertified teachers had to compromise their teaching hours in favour of certified ones.

As for teachers who were supposed to get a 1 000-GEL salary, Ms Kobakhidze noted that there is no official order or normative act that determines the requirements for this salary scheme.

Ms Kobakhidze also mentioned that numerous teachers are unlawfully dismissed and added that not even educators with PhD degree are safe from violation of their rights and unfair dismissal. She gave an example of Khatuna Shtaadze, former teacher at school #128: Besides being a professor, she has numerous academic achievements. However it did not hinder the school director to dismiss her without having any clear reason.
