This is an incomplete list of those activities which ESFTUG’s Chkhorotsku branch organization is carrying out for its members.

Organization’s 4-year activities detailed report was presented by the ESFTUG’s Chkhorotsku branch organization’s leader Gulnazi Badzaghua, at the reporting-election conference on May 4.

66 delegates, with ESFTUG’s president, Maia Kobakhidze, vice-president, Natia Kordzadze, Chkhorotsku Municipality Deputy Mayor, Valery Todua, head of Chkhorotsku preschool educational institutions, Badri Keburia, head of Chkhorotsku Resource Center Lia Jalaghonia, Chkhorotsku honorary citizen, principal of the village Chogi’s public school, Jemal Shengelia and other invited guests attended the conference.

Conference was conducted in active discussion and debate format.

Delegates in their speeches thanked Ms. Gulnazi for her activity, support and loyal attitude to work.

Speakers spoke about the problems in educational system, in region and made special attention to the following issues:

-hard infrastructure of schools;

-low wages of Kindergarten’s employees;

-need of elaboration of the new mechanisms of Funding and support;

-necessity of wage increase of public school teachers, administration and technical staff;

Primary grade teachers noted that teaching in the primary classes should be carried out by Iakob Gogebashvili's “Deda Ena” (mother language), which is in the list of intangible values. Kindergartens’ representatives raised the issue, that in order to encourage preschool institutions, low-budget municipalities should get additional funds from the central budget. “We need great work and effort to ensure that the child, which is chained to mother and cannot without mothers, happily, with their foot come to the kindergartens. We have a largest responsibility and our efforts and hard work needs proper appreciation from the state“- said the kindergartens’ representatives. They thanked the head of ESFTUG’s Chkhorotsku branch organization for her care not only for teachers’, but also for the technical staffs’ professional development, for buying toys for children.

Deputy Mayor of Chkhorotsku Municipality Valery Todua welcomed conference delegates and in his speech noted that: “Preschool institutions have new stuff. 5 years ago destroyed infrastructure actively being recovered. 6 new gardens have been built with modern standards, where the renovation works will be started on the vacation’s period.” The deputy mayor said that the fifth of Chkhorotsku municipality’s budget goes on the kindergartens’ care.

Head of Chkhorotsku educational resource center Lia Jalaghonia mentioned the trade union’s support in implementation of two mega-projects, in which teachers along with students are involved.

Mrs. Lia also discussed public schools’ infrastructure and teachers’ training. She also noted that in the purpose of raising teachers' activation and motivation, a club is created in the region, with 721 member teachers.

ESFTUG’s President Maia Kobakhidze thanked delegates and guests for their participation and engagement in the Conference. She presented ESFTUG’s 4-year activities report, she talked about the organization’s achievements in labor, social-economic, legal, and professional rights protection of education sector employees.

Maia Kobakhidze also discussed new challenges, goals, and noted: “We are not satisfied with our achievements, with your active participation and commitment, we will continue to work and fight for achieving our goals, for the development our organization.”

Gulnazi Badzaghua was unanimously elected as a head of ESFTUG’s Chkhorotsku branch organization.

At the end of the conference several delegates and invited guests were awarded with certificates for their activities and special contributions made into the union.
