“Teacher - indicator of the way” - the motto of the educators and scientists free trade union’s Didube-Chugureti branch organization’s reporting-election conference, which was held on March 30, in Tbilisi Teaching University’s assembly hall.

ESFTUG’s president, Maia Kobakhidze, the head of ESFTUG’s education and quality management department Teimuraz Kiknadze, the Rector of Tbilisi Teaching University, Levan Jangulashvili, the head of the Didube-Chughureti majoritarian MP Giorgi Volski’s bureau George Mzhavia, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Lia Karichashvili, the vice-rector of Tbilisi Teaching University, Tamar Jangulashvili, the principals of Didube-Chugureti district public schools and other invited guests attended the conference.

The conference was opened and the delegates and guests were welcomed by the ESFTUG’s President, Maia Kobakhidze. She thanked Tbilisi Teaching University’s rector and public schools’ principals for their cooperation, support and for their democratic approaches to the teachers and trade union. She also thanked the guests for coming.

Maia Kobakhidze noted that the Didube-Chugureti branch organization already has a strong team who should be able to protect its members’ interests. "Together we can achieve all our goals“ - said Maia Kobakhidze.

ESFTUG’s president spoke about trade union’s goals and objectives, achievements and new challenges. About the achievements in terms of improving teachers' social-economic situation, their labor and legal rights, their professional development and their prestige. Maia Kobakhidze also spoke about the organization's priorities which remain as the main challenge of ESFTUG.

She also talked about the 8th International summit, which was held in Lisbon and where the Georgian delegation was first invited.

The participants of the conference were welcomed by the rector of Tbilisi Teaching University, Levan Janngulashvili. He thanked the ESFTUG’s President for interesting speech, for important topics and noted that the University has a 60 credits teacher training educational program, and also started implementation of 300 credits program.

The participants of the conference were also welcomed by the principals of Tbilisi public schools #23 ND #37, Magda Baramidze and Larisa Meladze.

The teachers from public schools #24 and #37: Ana Daraselia, Eleonora Mchedlishvili, TatianA Shatirishvili and Maia Tsitsilashvili made speeches. Each of them talked about the problems that are relevant for their subjects’ teachers and general for all employees of educational institutions.

Candidate of ESFTUG’s Didube-Chugureti branch organization’s head, Tamar Barisashvili, presented 2017 activity report, after that she introduced organization's priorities and short-term and long-term plans.

45 delegates attended the conference and unanimously elected Tamar Barisashvili as the head of Didube-Chugureti branch organization.

At the end of the conference head of the ESFTUG’s Didube-Chugureti branch organizationTamar Barisashvili awarded the members of the organization and the district public schools with the certificates and special presents.
