On November 7, the student coference – “Rustvelology concepts by Pavle Ingorokva”- was held in the national parliamentary library of Georgia. The conference was dedicated to Shota Rustaveli 850-year anniversary and 5-year anniversary of Rustaveli Club foundation. The event was organised by the Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian literature and the Educators and Scientists Free Trade Union of Georgia under the framework of the project – “we are reading Rustaveli.”

The project – “we are reading Rustaveli ”- exists 15 years. The author and manager of the project is the head of the ESFTUG Didube-Chugureti district organisation, Tamar Barisashvili.

The organiser of the project and the event, Tamar Barisashvili thanked the guests for coming and for their 15-year active involvement in the project: “Today’s event is anniversary event, in this year we are celebratng the Shota Rustaveli 850 year anniversary, 15 -year anniversary of the project –“we are reading Rustaveli” and 5-year anniversary of the foundation of the Rustaveli Club. Today we devoted the space to the students, who have special views and scientific papers about Shota Rustaveli and his poem. At the same time, the event is attended by the representatives of all public schools, which, during the 15 years, were involved in the project - "we are reading Rustaveli"-said Tamar Barisashvili.

Literary critic, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Ivane Amirkhanashvili, addressed the conference participants and the audience. He spoke about the importance of the school pupils and students involvement in the project. He also focused on Pavle Ingorokva books – “Rustvelologycal concepts” , which was published for the Rustaveli 850 years anniversary: “this book, published by the initiative of Rostom Chkheidze, will become the indispensable and desk book for the Georgian philologist, for all readers interested in Georgian literature and history. The book is mostly about Rustvelology, but at the same time it is the historical-philological research. The gGeorgian culture is discussed in the context of the European and world culture. The precision focuses are made. The book is not only about Rustaveli, not only about history or literature, it is very well discussed the Georgian cultura in it. The cultural context is discussed in the political perspectives. The main idea developed by Pavle Ingorokva is that Georgia was the part of the Christian Europe befor the Mongols’ invasions. This and many other interesting and required opinions are collected in the book and I am very happy that young people are interested in Rustaveli and Pavle Ingorokva research“ –noted Ivane Amirkhanashvili.

The ESFTUG president, Maia Kobakhidze, spoke about the importance of the project -"we are reading Rustaveli". She briefly summarized 5 years of successful work of Levan Siradze Rustaveli Club and thanked all schools for their active participation in the project and club activities: “Thank you for coming, for involvement, for activeness. Tamar Barisashvili, during 15 years is organising this very interesting and useful project. 5 years ago, in this hall, at one of the final event, the idea of foundation of the Rustaveli club was born and over these years we conducted many interesting, educational, cognitive events. We have arranged the meetings with the scientists: Griver Parulava, Elguja Khintibidze, Parmen Margvelashvili, Nodar Natadze, Laura Grigalashvili, Avtandil Arabuli, with the honorary representatives of our society such as: Levan Berdzenishvili, Vasiko Maglaperidze, Gia Alibegashvili, Giorgi Kekelidze, Gia Murgulia, Mikheil Chabashvili. Also we have orginised the meeting-discussions with: Ramaz Pataridze, Giorgi Kekelidze, Gia Alibegashvili. We have arranged the event dedicated to 80th anniversary of Griver Parulava, 80th anniversary of Zurab Samkharadze, we have celebrated International Women's Day with the georgian women writer - Rusudan Kaishauri. We have orginised presetation of the new books and a lot of other interestig events. For me, it is very pleasant that the active participants of the project and our club with the teachers are the students”- said Maia Kobakhidze.

ESFTUG president Maia Kobakhidze also touched the important priorities of the union such as active cooperation between the students and the trade union: “we are making our first steps for creating the student organization. We have a great interest to involve the student union in our organisation, which will be new blood, new energy for us. Specially in conditions when the State has interest to attract young teachers” – said Maia Kobakhidze.

After the welcome speeches, the conference participants, students from the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi state University, from St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University and from the Grigol Robakidze University: Natia Jangulashvili, Mariam Lagidze, Natia Subeliani, Nana Aptsiauri, Mariam Papashvili and Giorgi Gogua with their interesting scientific papers, once again highlighted the brilliance and originality of Rustaveli, and Georgian literature.

Head of the Students ' scientific reports, Professor of the Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian literature, Lia Karichashvili thanked the students for their interesting scientific researches, for their such interest on Rustaveli, on Pavle Ingorokva papers and on that Era.

At the end of the event Tbilisi public schools #2, #4, #23, #24 and #37 were awarded for their active participation in the project- “we are reading Rustaveli”, with the diplomas and the books.

Larisa Meladze, Director of the Tbilisi public school #37, noted: “I am very pleased with the fact that in the project actively participates the Russian sector together with the Georgian sector of our school, and the students, for whom Georgian language is not the native language, have great success.”

In this year the State organised a lot of events dedicated to Shota Rustaveli 850-year anniversary and this day was a kind of crowning, the last chord of the anniversary.
