Education International, World Federation of Teachers Unions, ETUCE, EI European Region, Danish Union of Teachers, Education and Science Workers' Union (Germany) and World Federation of Trade Union will attend the court process concerning the legitimacy of ESFTUG Sixth Extraordinary Congress results. Following the session, delegation members will hold a press-conference and speak about their impressions and official position.
Delegation of five members has already held a meeting with the representatives of EU Delegation to Georgia, EU Ambassador, representatives of several Embassies, Office of Public Defender of Georgia and Georgian Trade Union Confederation leaders. They once again expressed their readiness to support ESFTUG and its newly-elected president.
Furthermore, delegation members examined different ways of assistance that can be offered to ESFTUG, the only legitimate association protecting Georgian teachers’ rights and representing their interests.
Representatives of international organizations also held meetings with ESFTUG leaders to discuss problems that are highly problematic for the whole organization.
Delegation chairman, David Poizeno stated that they had attended court proceedings against ESFTUG. He also added that European Delegation will arrive for the next hearing that will take place in Civil Court on 1 April. According to Mr Poizeno, international delegation is concerned by ongoing processes around ESFTUG, since the organization is deprived of financial resources.
Delegation arrived on 16 March and will stay until 19th.
