The candidate for Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili says that the Ministry is planning to make schools apolitical institutions and none of the directors will be dismissed throughout this process. “Association of Teachers and Parents of Georgia” addresses Mr Margvelashvili to consider investigation on legitimacy of the directors who had dismissed teachers for different political views. School #24 is among the list of schools where according to the association, teacher’s rights were violated. The school director, Gia Murghulia says that dismissing employee for his/her political affiliation disaccords with his moral beliefs.
Maia Kobakhidze, ESFTUG president, joins the association demands and considers reviewing the candidacies of several directors and resource center heads who were involved in illegitimate actions during the former regime.
