 "At each of our meetings, every one of us has an elevated mood and the feeling that ESFTUG's Dedoplistskaro branch organization is our family," - with this pathos was opened the reporting conference by the head of Dedoplistskaro branch organization Makvala Madzgharashvili.

ESFTUG’s Dedoplistskaro branch organization’s #6 reporting conference was held in Dedoplistskaro Municipality Museum. 56 delegates elected by the ESFTUG's primary organizations, the ESFTUG’s president Maia Kobakhidze, vice-presidents Natia Kordzadze and Mari Alugishvili participated at the conference.

The invited guests: Head of Dedoplistskaro Municipality Educational Resource Center Eter Zurikashvili, Deputy Mayor Malkhaz Merabishvili, Head of Education, Culture, Sports, Monuments Protection and Youth Affairs Tamar Tamazashvili and Chief Specialist of City Hall Nanuli Natroshvili attended the conference.

Makvala Madzgharashvili, head of Dedoplistskaro branch organization expressed her gratitude to ESFTUG’s leaders and central office. In the reporting period, with their efforts, the trust of the employees increased to the trade union and more than 300 members joined the organization since 2015. Accordingly, 84% of the employees are members of the union. ESFTUG's Dedoplistskaro branch organization unites 14 public schools, one private school and 17 kindergartens.

Head of Dedoplistskaro branch organization Makvala Madzgharashvili thanked the invited guests for active cooperation and support of teachers. She remembered the period of crisis in the organization, breaking the rights of teachers and working in a stressful environment. Makvala Madzgharashvili called positive and effective the cooperation between the government and the trade union in the last years, which aims to create a pupil-oriented teaching-learning environment and facilitate teacher support programs.

During the reporting period, for public school teachers, Dedoplistskaro branch organization conducted the trainings to facilitate professional development of the members of the Dedoplistskaro branch organization according to subjective groups and in professional skills; in development and summary assessment, lesson-planning modules; Consultation seminars on self-assessment questionnaire, preparation of individual action plan and preparation of a teacher's portfolio.

Trainings and seminars on the administration and management of the preschool system for the directors of the kindergartens were conducted, for kindergartens’ teachers were conducted the trainings about the modern methodology and standards, about psychology and inclusion, about school preparedness program.

In 2016-2018, ESFTUG’s Dedoplistskaro branch organization has organized 36 trainings for teachers of public schools for professional growth and development of members, 425 members participated in training-seminars to improve the quality of teaching and pass the certification exams successfully. The ESFTUG's Legal Department has provided free legal advice and services to union members during the court disputes. In case of concluding a labor agreement or in violation of contract requirements, there was an immediate and appropriate assistance to every member of the organization. In 2016, it was possible to return to the school the illegally dismissed teacher of the village Arkhiloskalo public school.

The Dedoplistskaro Public School teachers took part in the 4-day joint training of ESFTUG and Danish National Trade Union of the Upper Secondary school teachers (GL). Seminar on the essence, goals and structure of trade union was conducted for the union members.

ESFTUG's Dedoplistskaro organization actively cooperates with NGOs and local authorities, as well as local mass media.

Members of Dedoplistskaro branch organization are involved in cultural-educational activities organized by the union, they enjoy relaxation programs and special offers.

The rapporteur emphasized the events held on the Mother's Day, International Women's Day and Children's Day, meetings with honorable teachers held on Teachers International Day.

Members of ESFTUG's Dedoplistskaro branch organization systematically enjoyed summer and winter resorts in reasonable prices.

Discussion was held after the report of ESFTUG’s president Maia Kobakhidze and the conference delegates talked about the needs of effective implementation of their work.

Eter Zurikashvili, head of Dedoplistskaro Educational Resource Center welcomed the conference delegates: "I would like to point out that Mrs. Maia heats up light, warmth and love. This goes to everyone. I want to thank you for the work you do for the teachers. ESFTUG is an outstanding defender of teachers. I would like to thank Mrs. Makvala for standing beside the teachers. We work well together, because our job is to work with teachers and all of our concerns are the upbringing the next generation, we serve. This is solidarity. With this solidarity and unity we will go forward.

Malkhaz Merabishvili, deputy mayor of Dedoplistskaro municipality addressed the conference delegates: "Thank you all, thanks to the trade union that you exist and are struggling.Today we see how the situation of teachers has improved as social as well as spiritual. The teacher is no longer threatened by leaving the job. Thank you Mrs. Maia for constructive opinions. Dialogue is acceptable and welcomed to any intelligent government, how unwise government did this, unfortunately we have experience in the recent past. I think the teacher should have a decent pay and a worthy status in society ..."

Four delegates for the ESFTUG’s IX reporting-election congress were elected at the conference of ESFTUG’s Dedoplistskaro branch organization.

In conclusion, ten merit trade union members and social partners have been awarded with the diplomas.
