On 10 October, 2011 Maia Kobakhidze published an open letter to ESFTUG members in newspaper “Kronika”. The main aim of the letter was to inform union members about the problems existing in ESFTUG. Ms Kobakhidze uncovered the anti-union activities of several ESFTUG leaders who at the same time occupy governmental positions. She also blamed regional leaders who prefer to have a pro-government candidate as a union president, so that nothing can hinder their monthly income. Ms Kobakhidze gave an example of France and England and stated that during her presidency she plans to make ESFTUG an exemplary Trade Union that will be built on European values, aiming at protecting and supporting advancement of Human Rights in Georgia.
