Education International (EI) congratulates Maia Kobakhidze upon her Victory in Presidential Elections of ESFTUG. EI published an article on its website where it praised ESFTUG for holding democratic elections, stating that EI representatives including Secretary General, Fred Van Leeuwen, Senior Consultant – Gaston De La Haye and Director of AFT International Affairs Department – David Dorn attended ESFTUG 6th Extraordinary Congress. According to ESFTUG, international guests have already prepared a report regarding the Congress, where they described the processes in detail.
The trade union representatives stress that regardless the incident that took place at the congress, EI approved congress results and expressed support to newly elected president.
During ESFTUG Sixth Extraordinary Congress, part of the delegates left the hall in protest of a sole presidential candidate – Maia Kobakhidze.
