Delegates participated in the reporting-election conference work of the ESFTUG’s Akhmeta branch organization which was held on September 20, 2018 and the head of the Akhmeta Region Resource Center Manana Nadibaidze; Principal of Akhmeta Public School # 1 Nanuli Krikheli, Principal of Duisi Public School Lili Sviakauri attended the conference. Naira Qaadze, leader of Akhmeta branch organization summed up the four-year working period in the organization. She called on delegates to openly discuss and analyze current issues in the educational system. The leader of Akhmeta branch organization highlighted the importance of taking into account the approaches, visions and proposals of the members in order to effectively implement the regional organization's action plan. "The main thing for us now is to work out the optimal position and strategy, taking into consideration the circumstances that facilitate the development of the educational system on the one hand and on the other hand we are working to increase the authority of the trade union organization with our members," - Naira Qaadze said. Head of the Akhmeta branch organization noted with regret that the loyalty to trade union ideals is still low in the members and added that some of them are under the influence of the schools’ management. Therefore, she highlighted the necessity of raising awareness of the members, their actual involvement in the planned activities on the goals and objectives of the trade union. Naira Qaadze paid attention to teachers' salaries in her speech. She reminded the attendees about the 2014 ESFTUG’s campaign and 17,000 signatures, which resulted in teachers' basic salary increase twice. "Teacher can not be left in hard social conditions," -she said and addressed the delegates to be more active. The leader of Akhmeta branch organization spoke about her future plans. She said the main objective is to raise the role of the primary trade union organizations and the motivation of each member. She believes that trade union members should work through individual meetings, training-seminars and other activities. "We conducted training with invited trainers from the educational center for both school and pre-school staff, the main focus is on facilitating professional development of teachers, on facilitating their qualification improvement, trainings conducted by trained trainers have resulted in many teachers, they being able to change their status, which is directly related to their salaries" - says Naira qaadze's report. At the end of 2018 Akhmeta primary trade union organizations are operating in 62 educational institutions. The head of the Akhmeta branch organization awarded several teachers of the region with appreciation certificates and valuable gifts. The Akhmeta regional organization has handed over presents to the members with many children on children’s day. Naira Qaadze thanked the social partners, local government for cooperation. Akhmeta branch organization actively cooperates with local self-government bodies. "Strengthening of trade union, is all of us obligation ... I think it is important to be committed to trade union ideas and honesty towards trade union qualities, to be bold, openly talking about deficiencies and principally demanding their solution, together build the role of trade union in building a democratic state" -with these words, the leader of the Akhmeta branch organization addressed the audience. At the end of the conference, the delegates unanimously declared their trust and Naira Qaadze was elected as a head of Akhmeta branch organization for the next 4 years. The Delegates of the Conference approved the future four-year work plan of the ESFTUG’s Akhmeta branch organization and selected the delegates of the ESFTUG’s IX reporting-election congress. In the final part the teachers and social partners of Akhmeta region were awarded ESFTUG’s certificates.
